Cowgirl Gardens started as a personal passion, born out of a desire to share with others how to establish and maintain a successful kitchen garden space for themselves.
I started gardening as an adult. I wanted to grow my own food to feel more connected to what I was putting on the table for my family. I figured that if a local farmer can grow it, then I can, too. I read books, spent hours online, tested soils, tools and approaches, seeded in the garden and indoors and tried all kinds of things. I even got certified as a Gardenary consultant.
What I learned is that gardening is pretty basic.
The most important thing is having the right setup: think sunlight, water, good soil.
ANYONE can garden – yes, you can too!
At Cowgirl Gardens, we believe that anyone can have a kitchen garden. All it takes is a little sunlight and the desire to grow some of your own food.

Why should you trust me?
Because I wasn’t always a gardener. Not that long ago, I thought I had a black thumb – truly! Then, with my newfound knowledge, a little elbow grease and some help from mother nature, I built my first kitchen garden. In the first year, I went whole-hog in and produced literally hundreds of pounds of produce. I want to show you how you can, too.
